Exploring The Largest Abandoned Haunted Mansion on Vancouver Island, Canada

I was curious as to why this mansion was abandoned, so I found some history about this mansion.
It’s an old farm, (remembering this all from being told a long time ago, so could not be super accurate anymore) used to be owned by the Stone family, owner died, and kids couldn’t agree on what to do with it, so it sat vacant for quite a while, during which time people came in and trashed the house. I went once, it still had a front door, came back and the beautiful solid wood door was gone. It was then put up for sale, then the plan was to develop it, and just recently I’ve been told that it looks like they’re (whoever that might be) fixing up the sawmill building (my fav part) and almost making it look like, museum-y? There’s used to be a portable set up on by the driveway, I think for security reasons, and during that time it was hard to go walk around there, but it’s been gone for a while now and it seems like walking around is okay again? It’s a super neat property, so many out buildings to explore and even a waterfall!
The location and aspect is amazing, the daytime views over the valley and the night sky with virtually no light pollution.
All this fits with what I know too. It’s been purchased to develop but the project hasn’t taken off. The new owners considered renting the house out probably 7 years ago and they didn’t want to spend money on it and then people started breaking in and trashed it, kids vandalized it, I know someone who would go check up in it and board it up as needed. Now it’s all overgrown and the house is a derelict but it’s pretty cool to walk around and check the property out.
To clarify. It wasn’t Stone family who left it to be trashed. It was the developer who bought it. Left the house to be abandoned, cut all the trees and left the slash piles.
