We explore an abandoned mansion in Portugal.

Within the stunning wine region of Portugal, nestled high in the mountains, surrounded by miles of vineyards and overlooking a truly stunning river… you’ll find this 18th century royal mansion house.

A monarchs family home, they enjoyed a lavish lifestyle here.
It offers outstanding views down the valley, which can be enjoyed from the outdoor pool or tennis court, venture down into its wine cellar where the homemade wine could be enjoyed, take some time to think inside the private chapel, or bask in the sunset in the regal communal lounge.

It eventually passed to a winemaker and his family who kept the mansion as it always was for many years, before it finally became a luxury hotel.

It remains elegantly furnished, boasting elaborately tiled walls and crystal chandeliers.

Closed since 2012 and with no plans, what will the future hold for this outstanding mansion house.
